The Housing Advisory Council has been launched in Ventura County. Its formation is part of the LULAC National Housing Commission's efforts to establish councils across the country.
The commission, in collaboration with local League of United Latin American Citizens councils, National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals chapters, Hispanic National Mortgage Association, Corporate Partners, and other real estate organizations and industry representatives, works to help establish these housing councils.
LULAC will conduct a kickoff event at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel, 600 E. Esplanade Drive, Oxnard.
Real estate professionals, housing corporation officials, developers, affordable housing advocates, community leaders and members of the public are invited. Cost is $35 per person, and reservations are required. Call Gil Guevara at 231-6581 by Aug. 14.
