Portion of Avenida de Los Arboles closing today

A section of Avenida de Los Arboles will be closed for bridge work between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. today and Thursday.

The California Department of Transportation will close all lanes of Avenida de Los Arboles in Thousand Oaks at the Highway 23 undercrossing.

The $65 million construction project will add a new lane in each direction on Highway 23 from Highway 101 in Thousand Oaks to Los Angeles Avenue in Moorpark.

Security Paving is the contractor on the project. It is estimated to be completed in summer 2010.

Detour signs will be posted, and closures are weather-permitting and subject to change, officials said.
