Morning Report: Oxnard roadway open again after spill
Police and Fire: A lane of Rice Avenue in Oxnard was closed for about an hour this morning while Oxnard Fire Department personnel cleaned up 400 pounds of fertilizer pellets that had fallen off of a passing truck, authorities said.
Police closed a lane of Rice Avenue at Camino del Sol shortly after 6 a.m. when the spill was reported.
Fire personnel swept up the pellets and the roadway was open again by about 7 a.m., said Battalion Chief Darwin Base.
Traffic: At 6:23 a.m., Ventura County Fire Department personnel were responding to a traffic collision near the intersection of Presidential Drive and Madera Road in Simi Valley, the department reported.
Weather: Dense fog is reducing visibility to as little as one-quarter mile in many areas of the county this morning, but mostly sunny conditions are expected later today, the National Weather Service reported.
High temperatures in the low 70s at beaches and into the low 90s in valleys are predicted.
There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in local mountains.

The spill was actually on Rose Ave. I was delayed getting to a meeting this morning.
