Rash of car thefts hits city over the weekend

Santa Paula was struck by a rash of car burglaries this weekend, authorities said.

At least 10 thefts from vehicles were reported, most of them occurring on the west side of town, said Lt. Mike Saviers. Most of the cars burglarized were unlocked.

"It's a crime of opportunity," Saviers said.

Residents can reduce their risk of becoming burglary victims by not leaving valuables in plain view inside their cars.

"But if you are going to leave valuables in your car, make sure it's locked," Saviers said.

Information: LOCK your darn doors....
Do not leave valuables in view inside of car....
Most car burglaries occur when people leave things in plain view so others can see whats inside. So if you want to keep it ,take it in the house.
There ya go Anita !!

Great advice. But you forgot if you don't want to be raped wear a burka and a chastity belt and if you don't want to be murdered don't go outside without your bulletproof vest or just stay in your bunker and be very quiet. I should have to lock my car and hide my possessions because we don't know how to be good neighbors and watch out for each other. Great advice. How about don't steal! And if you catch a thief call the cops to pick his butt up after the beating.
