Power outage reported in S.V.

More from Other NewsAn underground cable connector failed in Simi Valley Monday night and cut off power to about 1,200 Southern California Edison customers, the energy company said today.
The four hour-long outage began about 9 p.m. and affected Simi Valley residents in an area bordered by Los Angeles Avenue, Highway 118, West First Street and East Wisteria, said Jane Brown, a regional spokeswoman for the energy company.
During the blackout, lights went on and off intermittently as crews searched for the malfunctioning cable, Brown said. The broken connector was located in the 2300 block of Erringer Road.
By 1 a.m., power was back on for all but 22 of the 1,200 SCE customers. Those customers, all businesses on the 2300 block of Erringer, had power again by 7 a.m., Brown said.
