House fire causes $25,000 in damage
A blaze in a Ventura home over the weekend caused about $25,000 in damage, Ventura City Fire Department officials said Monday.
The fire was reported in the 900 block of Albany Avenue at 12:08 a.m. Sunday.
It apparently began near a water heater in the home's garage and spread to the attic above the main building, authorities said in a statement.
Firefighters put out the fire within eight minutes of arriving on the scene.
The property sustained about $15,000 worth of damage, said Battalion Chief David Frost. About $10,000 worth of the home's contents were also damaged. No one was injured in the blaze.
The cause of the fire had not been determined Monday.
