Camarillo Senior Activities

Apple-a-Day Café: A lunchtime community meal program is available to Camarillo residents 60 and older for a donation of $3. The program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., meals are served at noon Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 1605 Burnley St. Call 388-1952 for reservations.

Senior Meal Mobile: Home-delivered meals are available to homebound Camarillo residents 60 and older Monday through Friday, for a donation of $3 per meal. Call 388-1952 to enroll in this program.

Nail care clinic: Licensed, supervised nail clinic for individuals unable to care for their own toenails or fingernails. Appointment required.

Support groups: There are groups for panic and anxiety, multiple sclerosis, MOMS clubs, stroke survivors, arthritis and Parkinson's disease.

Volunteer program: Offers community residents an opportunity to share their expertise and personal talents, meet new people, and be part of a team.

Wellness services: Health screenings include blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, colon cancer, tuberculosis, hearing, depression and more. Immunizations and other special screenings are as scheduled.

Volunteers needed: Volunteers are sought to install Lifeline medical alert units in homes (training provided), to deliver meals and assist at the community meal site for the Senior Meals program, and to assist with activities at the Club Camarillo Adult Day Support Center. Call 388-1952, ext. 141.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

The city of Oxnard Senior Services sponsors the Oxnard Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Through RSVP, men and women 55 and older are putting their life experience to work for their communities.

Volunteer opportunities are available with the Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association, Channel Islands Harbor Visitor Center, Interface, ProCare Hospice, Oxnard Friends of the Library and S.C.O.R.E.
