Oxnard bank robbed

A man who appeared to be in his late 40s robbed an Oxnard bank this afternoon, authorities said.

About 2:23 p.m. the robber demanded money from a teller at the Bank of the West, 371 W. Esplanade Drive, and left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, police said in a statement.

No weapon was seen and no one was injured during the robbery.

Anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to call Oxnard police at 982-7070 or the Federal Bureau of Investigations at 64995.

never a good idea to put a bank so close to freeway access, especially with 101 on ramp that just recently opened. seems like most banks that get robbed are close to freeway access.
