Information sought about arson fires
Los Angeles County sheriff's officials are asking for help in finding an arsonist who has set at least one fire at an Agoura Hills park.
The most recent intentionally lit fire flared about midnight April 8 at Forest Cove Park on Forest Cove Lane in Agoura Hills, said Sgt. Craig Anderson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Arson Squad. The fire caused about $25,000 in damage to the park's plastic playground equipment, Anderson said.
Another arson was reported in the park about a year ago. That fire was set in the park's bathroom area.
Investigators are looking into the possibility that the two fires were set by the same person. No motive has been determined for the incidents.
The city of Agoura Hills has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the arsonist.
Anyone with information is asked to call Anderson at 323-881-7500.
