Ralphs, FOOD Share team to feed hungry
FOOD Share, Ventura County's regional food bank, is once again teaming up with Ralphs and Food 4 Less on the Bringing Hope to the Table program, which will raise money to help fight hunger.
The program, which begins Sunday and runs through July 28, is expected to raise $4 million to support the America's Second Harvest network of food banks.
Locally the program will allow FOOD Share to continue to serve thousands of Ventura County families.
The program uses in-store promotions of a variety of packaged goods at Ralphs and Food 4 Less designed to raise awareness among shoppers of hunger in the local communities.
When shoppers purchase participating products, the proceeds are donated to Second Harvest and its member food banks, of which FOOD Share is one.
FOOD Share Inc. distributed approximately 10 million pounds of food and grocery products last year, helping nearly 100,000 people.
