Wayne & Martha Bowman Dugan of Ventura celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 7, 2007. They celebrated with a luncheon at Suzanne's Cuisine in Ojai, hosted by their sons, Dan (wife Judy) of Ventura, Bob (wife Glenda) of Ventura, and Craig of Phoenix, Ariz.

Also in attendance were the couple's grandchildren, Joshua of Carpinteria, Meighan (husband John) Zimmerman of University Place, Wash., and great grandchildren, Natasha, Trent, & Chase. Jack and Francis Marshall of Ventura also attended.

Wayne and Martha were married at Martha's home in Chesterhill, Ohio on July 10, 1942, after having met as students at Ohio University in Athens. Following Wayne's United States Army service in the Pacific theater during World War II, they relocated to Burbank where he began a 34 year career as a public school teacher and administrator. They moved to Ventura in 1962 where Wayne continued his career in education in the Ventura Unified School District until retirement in 1979. Martha also taught, retiring from Buena H.S. in 1978.

They remain involved in First United Methodist Church, the Optimists, family activities, and the activities at the Ventura Townehouse where they reside.
