Moorpark captures District 13 titles

Kameron Pollock had the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to spark the Moorpark Little League 11-12-year-old all-stars to a 5-4 win over Thousand Oaks American in the District 13 championship game on Tuesday.
It was tournament host Moorpark's third straight District 13 championship and fifth since winning the 1996 West Region championship.
Elliott Keene of Thousand Oaks contributed an RBI single in the three-run third inning. Cory Lee of Moorpark had a two-run single in the bottom of the third to make it 3-2. Patrick Burns of Thousand Oaks had an RBI single in the fourth to make it 4-2. James Glover hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at 4.
Moorpark advances to the Section 1 Tournament on Saturday at Nipomo Little League.
In other District 13 championship games, Moorpark defeated Sunset 14-7 for the 9-10 championship at Port Hueneme; Moorpark defeated host Thousand Oaks 10-4 for the 10-11 division title; and Conejo Valley East beat Port Hueneme 10-9 in nine innings for the junior division title.
In District 63, Ojai Valley defeated Foothill 3-0 for the Senior Division championship.
