Rotary Club donates to Meals on Wheels

The Rotary Club of Simi Sunset presented a check for $1,000 to the Council on Aging's Meals on Wheels program, which delivers more than 1,000 meals each month to seniors in Simi Valley.

The Rotary Club of Simi Sunset's fundraisers directly benefit the community of Simi Valley, Ventura and Los Angeles counties and projects around the world.

Communications firm receives award

Alert Communications of Ventura has earned the Association of TeleServices International's Award of Excellence for a third consecutive year.

Alert Communications was recognized after six months of intensive testing by an independent panel of judges, who scored call-handling skills such as courtesy, response time, accuracy and overall service to clients, the cornerstones of the call management industry. A company scoring 80 percent or better in all categories earns the Award of Excellence.

Engineering firm awarded projects

Ventura-based AE Group Mechanical Engineers Inc. has been awarded contracts for mechanical engineering services for two major projects at Moorpark College.

The first project is the 13,000-square-foot Exotic Animal Training and Management facility, which is being designed by Steven Ehrlich Architects of Culver City. The second is the 39,000-square-foot Health Sciences Center, which is being designed by Los Angeles architect Perkins + Will.

AE Group Mechanical Engineers has provided professional mechanical engineering services in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties since 1976.
