Account manager named at Stay Green

Stay Green Inc., a Santa Clarita landscape contracting firm, has named Art Rose of Valencia as account manager of the company's Ventura County operation in its Oxnard office.

Rose brings 16 years of landscape industry experience to the position, including serving as operations manager for a landscape maintenance company in Phoenix.

He received his Turf Grass Professional Certification from the University of Georgia, and is OSHA certified in safety and health.

His responsibilities will include serving existing clients in the region and increasing SGI's landscape maintenance client base with homeowner associations, commercial shopping centers and marinas in the county.

UPS honors driver for 25 years of safety

Scott Thayer of Ventura, a tractor-trailer driver for UPS, was recognized for completing 25 years without an accident. Thayer works out of the facility at 1501 Rancho Conejo Blvd. in Newbury Park.

UPS has a reputation for safety in the transportation industry. UPS drivers log more than 2 billion miles a year on U.S. roads and average less than one accident per million miles driven.

VENTURA

Club 50 co-owner joins task force

Elaine Aldrete, co-owner of Club 50 Fitness Center in Ventura and a Santa Paula resident, has joined the Ventura Chamber of Commerce task force on healthcare.

As part of the task force, Aldrete will join in the discussion of Assembly Bill 8. The bill establishes a comprehensive package of healthcare reforms, including expansion of eligibility for the Medi-Cal and Healthy Families Programs, creation of a statewide healthcare purchasing program, and modifications to the rules governing private individual and group health insurance.

The task force was formed to discuss the possible drawbacks AB 8 and Senate Bill 48 will have on small- to medium-size businesses and to make suggestions to the Assembly to alleviate those problems.
