Arson suspected in fires at two Ventura businesses
Police and Fire: Firefighters and police extinguished suspicious blazes in two businesses on the same Ventura street this morning.
The causes of the fires had not been determined as of 10:30 a.m., but Ventura police are investigating the possibility they were intentionally set, said Lt. Ray Vance.
The first fire was reported at 4:04 a.m. at the Twisted Ink tattoo parlor and body piercing shop at 2098 East Main Street, fire officials said.
Ventura city firefighters had the blaze knocked down by 4:19 a.m.
Another flare-up was reported three blocks away at 4:06 a.m.
Police who had responded to an alarm at a business on the 1700 block of East Main Street put out a fire there about 4:06 a.m.
The fire was small enough that an officer was able to put it out with a bottle of water, Vance said.
Fire officials said no injuries were reported in either incident.
Estimates of the damage caused by the fires were not immediately available.

Sounds like the Hells' Angels have had enough of competeing tattoo parlors again.

I was wondering how long that would take. Ridiculous.

I have a problem, you people must have read some thing that I did not. No where did I see the Hell Angles mentioned. I guess because a tattoo palor was burned you assumed that it was the Hells Angles. Great thinking.
I know that the Hells Angles are no Angles but wait until the police get the fact before you decide who to blame.

jmcgaw....you obviously dont live in Ventura or you would know what the reference to the H.A.'s is....they are notorious for disposing of the competition around these parts. They "disposed" of another tattoo shop a few years back that opened up on main street. It was only a matter of time till they took out these newer ones.

Yup, the other business is a new tattoo parlor as well. Maybe we should get the feds involved, because it looks like we have a terrorist organization in town.

That is so sad for these people who are trying to run a legit business.

How funny.......they think they are so tough, but not tough enough to handle a little competition.

hmmmm, i've never heard of the hell's "angles". i mean, i didn't do that well in geometry, but.....
and, no, folks, the last thing you want involved is the feds. you want to talk about corruption and ineptitude, talk feds.they need to leave law enforcement to the professionals. no, vpd is not taking payoffs from the h.a.'s, we (we being the people of ventura county) just have trouble getting juries that will convict them.

Seriously, I get why it's easy to jump to conclusions, but since the article failed to mention the Hell's Angels, you shouldn't simply assume they were involved, no matter how much a tarnished past they might have.

jmcgaw, it is known around here that when a Tat shop opens it will only be time before this happens, and theirs is the Hells Angels Tat shop is the only one that never catches on fire. When the shops opened a few months ago my friends and I were talking wondering how long it would take, and at the 1700 block of main is another Tat shop.

Come on YRMOM - "they pay off the VPD" - got some proof to back up that comment?

The question is: who would benefit from this serious crime? (Henna painters)
