Camarillo man killed in four-car accident in Oxnard
A Camarillo man was killed this morning in a four-car collision in Oxnard, police said.
The 51-year-old man was driving west on Gonzales Road at 9:29 a.m. when he turned left onto Entrada Drive and crashed into an eastbound vehicle, police said. The vehicles started to spin, and two other drivers became involved in the wreck.
Investigators determined the eastbound car was unable to stop to avoid the collision.
The Camarillo man died at the scene. His name was being withheld today while county medical examiners tried to find and notify next of kin.
The man was not wearing a seatbelt, said Senior Officer Maria Peña of the Oxnard Police Department.
The driver of the eastbound car, Alejandro Cabrera Hernandez, 50, of Oxnard, was not injured, police said. Another driver, Suzana Gonzales, 20, of Oxnard, suffered injuries including a broken wrist, Peña said. The fourth driver, Karin Silvia Duncan, 42, of Oxnard, was treated at the scene.
All lanes of Gonzales were closed from Indiana to Bahia drives from 9:30 a.m. to about 2:50 p.m.
Anyone who witnessed the accident should call Peña at 385-7750.
