Tigers acquire reliever Capellan

More from MLBThe Detroit Tigers acquired right-hander reliever Jose Capellan from the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league pitcher Chris Cody. The Brewers also activated left-hander Chris Capuano, who had been on the disabled list since June 14.
Burnett back on DL: The Toronto Blue Jays sent right-hander A.J. Burnett back to the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain, three days after he was activated and briefly returned to the rotation.
Cubs put Cherry on DL: The Chicago Cubs placed right-hander Rocky Cherry on the 15-day disabled list and recalled right-hander Billy Petrick.
Mets' Sosa goes on DL: New York Mets starter Jorge Sosa was placed on the 15-day disabled list and recalled Mike Pelfrey.
