Timberlake gets VCast channel
Justin Timberlake is taking his image mobile.
On Friday, the singer unveiled a mobile video channel on Verizon Wireless' VCast video service called JT-TV at a pre-Grammy party sponsored by Verizon and Rolling Stone and held at the Avalon in Los Angeles.
The move makes Timberlake the first artist to have his own branded channel on the VCast service, with content developed exclusively for the service. Timberlake will provide four areas of programming: fashion, music, movies and lifestyle.
Filming for the mobile TV service began at the Avalon event, where Timberlake and childhood friend Trace Ayala will launch their "William Rast" fashion line, complete with fashion show and musical performances.
The JT-TV service will begin airing in March with fashion and music programming, with movie and lifestyle content added in May or June.

Galactica' goes hi-def
NBC Universal is partnering with Sierra Online, a division of Vivendi Games, and Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade to deliver an original, high-definition "Battlestar Galactica" space combat game this fall.
The game, based on the popular Sci Fi Channel show, also will be available on Windows PC and will be digitally distributed, bypassing retail.
Fans will be able to download the PC game at a number of Web sites, including Scifi.com, NBC.com and Sierra.com.
"Battlestar Galactica' has been progressive with new technology from blogs and podcasts from the creators to the digital distribution of the show on iTunes," said Bill Kispert, vice president interactive of NBC Universal.
This marks the first time that an original Hollywood-licensed property will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace.
As of Friday, Xbox 360 owners are now able to download "Galactica" Gamer Pics and Themepacks in an effort to build awareness for the new game and the TV series, which airs at 10 p.m. Sundays.
