Crafting Up Some Fun For Shoppers
12/13/2007 Thursday, December 13, 2007 Many wonderfully talented people spend their time crafting items of wood, fabric, and other media to sell at arts and crafts fairs. For the thousands of people who appreciate hand crafted gifts, local craft shows are the place to go.
Crafters are being sought now for the May 3 Spring Arts and Crafts Fair hosted by Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District. Held at Rancho Tapo Community Park in Simi Valley from 10am-4pm, the fair typically has a large selection of handmade or embellished items such as jewelry, woodwork, clothing, art, and lots more.
Additionally, the district is planning the all-day Oak Park Spring Arts and Crafts fair scheduled for March 22 at Mae Boyar Park, Oak Park. This event has jewelry, woodwork, clothing, art and more.
Since both events are in the Spring, many vendors sell gift items for graduations, weddings, theJuly 4thholiday, and more. Stop by early for the best selection.
The district holds three events annually; two in Simi Valley and one in Oak Park. The Oak Park event is Easter weekend, while the Simi events are the first Saturday in May and the last Sunday in October. Vendors interested in the Simi events may obtain an information packet or inquire with questions by contacting the district at (805) 584-4400. For the Oak Park event, contact the Oak Park recreation office (818) 865-9304.
