Bellringer: Couple donate in memory of parents

Marilyn Redin and her husband, Tom, have donated to the Bellringer for some 10 years now in honor of their late parents, Roy and Gertrude Redin and Alvin and Jennie Christensen.

"It's something we do because it's a worthy cause," Marilyn Redin said by telephone from her Ventura home. They gave $100 this year.

Redin's commitment to charity extends beyond The Star's annual Bellringer campaign.

"I also give to the bell ringers at stores," she said.

The Star's annual Bellringer drive ends today. All money raised will be given to the Salvation Army to serve needy local people.

For a list of new donors and where to send contributions, see B8.
