Two men arrested in beer theft case

More from County NewsTwo Santa Paula residents were arrested after attempting to steal beer from a store and fighting with the clerk, according to authorities.
Juan Valenzuela, 23, was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of second-degree robbery and second-degree commercial burglary and was being held Sunday in lieu of $55,000 bail.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested on the same charges and taken to the Ventura County juvenile facility. He also was booked on suspicion of vandalism for kicking and damaging the rear window of a police vehicle.
Santa Paula police responded to a report of a theft at Juniors Market at 9:14 p.m. Saturday. Using surveillance tapes, officers were able to identify both suspects.
Valenzuela and the juvenile entered the store and attempted to take beer, according to the statement by police. As the clerk attempted to stop them, a confrontation ensued. The suspects left and then returned a short time later and tried to start a fight with the clerk, police said.
The suspects left the store before officers arrived.
Officers searched the area and found Valenzuela and the teen in the alleyway of the 400 block of Ojai Road. Both ran from police and were caught during the foot chase, according to the statement.

Dumb and Dumber, I am guessing the adult to be the Dumber!!!! They had to have know the clerk already called the police for them trying to steal the beer and the fight they tried to start with the clerk. Unbelievable they came back !!!! What idiots ! Well the jail usually does have a nice meal for Christmas.........not sure about Juevenile hall. But after that forget they can eat green bologna!!!!!! Good work on the Officers who spotted them and chased them down !!!!!!!

Expensive beer is on US!!! the taxpayers. We should put those kind of criminals on the front line in Iraq and teach them to be responsible citizens.
