Spears news may spur special

NEW YORK (AP) — Nickelodeon is considering a special for its young audience about sex and love after the news that 16-year-old "Zoey 101" star Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant.

The television network has made no announcement about the future of "Zoey 101," its popular program aimed primarily at youngsters 9 to 14. Filming for the show's fourth and final season has finished, and episodes are to begin airing in February.

For the special, Nickelodeon said it's talking with Linda Ellerbee, the veteran newswoman who has stepped in with shows on talking to children about difficult issues in the news. She's done shows about same-sex parents, AIDS, the Columbine shooting and President Clinton's impeachment scandal.

"I think it's important that something be done," Ellerbee said Thursday, "but I think it's important that it be done in a measured way, and not just to feed the beast of news stories."

Rather than focus strictly on Spears, Ellerbee said, she's considering producing a broad discussion about how people know they're in love, when is the right time to have sex and what are the value systems of their parents and friends. It could air as soon as next month.

What a bunch of garbage. If Nikelodeon is interested in really doing the right thing, they should fire the little tramp and send her packing. She is a poor role model to younger children. If they continue to idolize her pregnancy and are given continued pictures and videos of her growing larger, they will think it's totally cool to be pregnant. The entire media is only interested in advertising revenue. If a story is given coverage and viewers are tuning into see, then advertisers pay more money. It's time these networks stop putting profits ahead of morality.

There is nothing positive about her pregnancy. If her sex partner is over 18 he should be arrested for statutory rape. That would be good news.

So here you have a stupid 16 y.o. now telling all of the little girls that idolize her all about being pregnant. And if it continues to the end, and she keeps the baby without getting married, then in the next couple of years there will be a huge spike in the number of teenage pregnancies without being married. Just wait.

I consider both of those Spears girls and their mom simple Trailer Trash. Brainless and thoughtless with only a body as their calling.
