CAMARILLO
First-place honors
Kiana Howard, an eighth-grade student from Las Colinas Middle School in Camarillo, took first place in the middle school category of the seventh annual California School Library Association @ your Library Poster Contest with her "Op" art style poster. Her poster was titled "Take Reading to the Edge @your Library." She received a $50 savings bond.
OXNARD
Student is honored
Marissa Domitrovich of Oxnard was honored by Penn State at the annual campus fall Scholarship Donor/Recipient Recognition Dinner.
Domitrovich is the recipient of the Thomas P. and Shirley Woolaway Endowed Scholarship. She is a freshman and an agriculture major.
CHATSWORTH
Named Physician of the Year
Alberto Odio, M.D., has been named Physician of the Year by Regal Medical Group, one of the largest independent physician associations in Southern California.
The presentation was made at a fundraising banquet at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley on Nov. 30. Odio accepted the award in the name of all family physicians in the community and spoke about the rewards of being a family doctor.
Odio is a native of Costa Rica and lives in Chatsworth. He is a member of Alta California Medical Group.
