"The new year means a fresh start for health and fitness," says Tim O'Connor, executive director of the Conejo Valley YMCA. "We host an annual open house in January to give people the opportunity to start making healthy changes early in the year. Just attending is a great motivator."
"We want kids and adults alike to get excited about fitness and maintain that excitement throughout the year," says Jill Shaffer, executive director of the new Miller Family YMCA in the Dos Vientos area of Newbury Park. "The YMCAs are conveniently located in the Simi and Conejo Valleys so participating in our programs are easy. Plus, we keep them affordable and offer financial assistance when necessary."
