How can that be misdemeanor dui? He ran into a house?! Doesn't property damage constitute felony dui?

why? it's just a house. Drunk drivers kill people all the time and barely get a slap on the wrist. If they view human life with such little value, why would you think a house would fall under felony?

Two stories in two weeks of drunk drivers driving into homes, thank goodness no one was injured in either.

Yesterday an innocent man was killed and a police officer seriously injured...It is a damn shame that people still don't get that drinking and driving KILLS!!!!!!!

sunnbear, without getting technical regarding multiple violations of "plain" dui, etc, california law is that dui, even if you cause property damage, is a misdemeanor. to elevate it to felony status, there must be bodily injury or death to a person OTHER than the drunk driver.
