Man arrested after pursuit in Ventura
From staff reports
Ventura police this afternoon arrested a 46-year-old man following a brief pursuit, authorities said.
The chase began about 12:06 p.m. at the Ventura Marina on the 1200 block of Anchors Way after a driver suspected of hit-and-run refused to obey officers' orders to stop, said Sgt. Jack Richards of the Ventura Police Department.
The motorist stopped in the area of the Olivas Park Golf Course and got out of his car but continued to be uncooperative, Richards said.
Officers used a taser to subdue the man and take him into custody.
He was taken to Ventura County Medical Center to have the taser probes removed, and will be arrested once he is released, Richards said.
