More from VenturaThe Ventura Football Club Girls Under-14 squad clinched this year's CSL bronze alpha League Championship with a decisive 5-0 win over S.B. Red in their final game of the season. The victory gave Ventura FC the points it needed to edge out their northern rival, Santa Barbara White, and grab the league title. The Ventura girls squad went undefeated in 2007, giving up just five goals during the entire season. They also won their pool in League Cup play, dominating the Bakersfield Brigade and Riverside United. As League Champs, the Ventura Reds will move up to the Silver Division next season. The Ventura Reds are Melody Axtell, Florence Butcher, Caitlin Calahan, Celsie Calvert, Stephanie Cox, Alyssa Delgado, Madison Eliot, Kelly Fitzpatrick, Marissa Guerrero, Ciara McConnell, Jessica Lucas, Lauren N'Guetta, Anisa Patterson, Danielle Rose, Sabrina Sewell, Ila Shimabuku and Leah Wilson. They are coached by Mauricio Rivera, with help from assistant coach Charles Calahan and manager Susan Fitzpatrick.
