More from events calfeed"Pictures of Hollis Woods" (new movie) at 9 on CBS: Hollis (Jodelle Ferland), a good-hearted kid who is having difficulty staying in a foster family, moves in with a good-hearted woman who shows symptoms of Alzheimer's (Sissy Spacek). It's inevitable that they'll save each other, but "Pictures" avoids TV formulas and paints a genuine portrait of people you'll root for. (Keep some Kleenex handy.)
"Tin Man" (Part One of a three-part miniseries) at 9 on Sci Fi: Zooey Deschanel stars as DG in an imaginative reintrepretation of "The Wizard of Oz." The story explores the characters in more depth and is grittier than the 1939 movie version, but it's true to the story's original spirit.
"Desperate Housewives" at 9 on ABC: DG in "Tin Man" isn't the only one facing a tornado. One's about to hit Wisteria Lane.
