Edison restores power in Simi
Technicians from Southern California Edison this afternoon finished restoring power to the last of about 1,300 Simi Valley customers who lost electricity Wednesday evening in the Wood Ranch area, officials said.
The outage near Martha Morrison Drive and Hennessy Avenue began about 6:30 p.m. when a transformer overheated, said Rudy Gonzales, a regional manager for the utility.
A resident had built a retaining wall around the transformer and covered most of it with dirt, which kept it from cooling sufficiently during yesterday's hot weather, Gonzales said.
Most customers had power back within a few hours, but about 30 were without electricity until 12:30 p.m. today, he said.
Another outage occurred Tuesday evening in a different area of Wood Ranch. A switch failed about 5:30 p.m., cutting power to between 1,200 and 1,300 Edison customers, Gonzales said. Most had power restored within two hours, but about 30 had to wait until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Uh oh! I bet that person is real liked by his neighbors. Wonder if he will get a bill for that?

He probably covered it up since he didn't like the way it looked by his property. Probably felt it would lower his property value by it being visible.
