Joshua Warthen of Pismo Beach, shooting rounds of 67 and 69, won his second event of the season during the California Players Tour at Monarch Dunes Golf Course in Nipomo on Aug. 20-21.

Vanessa Brockett of Los Angeles picked up her third win on the ladies division, shooting 76-74 for a 6-over 150.

The next CPT event is the Tour Championship on Sept. 24-26 at La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc. It will be a 54-hole event with a cut after 36 holes. Entry is $550 for pro members, $600 for non-members and $350 for Amateurs and Ladies Tour Members.

Hole-in-one report: Thomas Lee of Santa Monica made his second hole in one at Westlake's 171-yard second hole, using a 5-iron. It was witnessed by Ralph Bock.

Larry Patterson of Chatsworth scored his first ace after 20 years, acing Westlake's 110-yard ninth hole with a 7-wood.

Westlake Men's Club member Chris Baber scored his fifth career hole in one, knocking his tee shot in the hole on the 125-yard ninth hole. He used a 9-iron and his shot was witnessed by Steve Kosloff, Jim Vopicka and Ted Kingsley.

Lauren Bernstein of Reseda recorded her second ace at Westlake's 155-yard 14th hole with a 4-hybrid. Her shot was witnessed by Tom Fine.

Andy Desilva, president of the Olivas Links Mens Golf Club, scored his first career ace on the 145-yard eighth hole at Camarillo Springs. Desilva used an 8-iron and his shot was witnessed by Dan Murphy, Herman Danieley and Robin Danieley.

Donald Selfridge of Camarillo aced the 12th hole at Camarillo Springs, using a utility club. It was witnessed by Chuck Mac Fadyen.

Ventura senior event: The Ventura City Senior Championships are set for Sept. 19-20 at Buenaventura Golf Course and Olivas Links. The Buena Senior Men's Golf Club is serving as host. Deadline to enter is Sept. 7.

Entry forms can be picked up at either of the two participating golf courses.

Players must be 55 years of age or older to play. Cost to enter is $100.

Charity golf: The eighth annual Thousand Oaks Lancers tournament is set for Nov. 19 at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley.

Cost to play is $225 for those who register before Nov. 1 and $250 after that date. All proceeds go to support the Lancers baseball program.
