Boy Scout program set for Sept. 15
The community is invited to experience the Boy Scout program at the Webelos Woods event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 15 at Tierra Rejada Ranch, Walnut Grove area, 3370 Sunset Valley Road, Moorpark.
Webelos Woods' goal is to help boys and their parents have an easier time choosing a Boy Scout troop to join.
Use this day to help decide which troop meeting to visit, learn when and where each troop meets, learn about each troop calendar of events and who to contact for troop visits.
A registration application should be sent by Sept. 5. The Webelos Woods registration application can be found on the Ventura County council, Ronald Reagan District Web page at www.vccbsa.org/ronaldreagan/events/WebWoods_WEBELOS_flyer.pdf.

Easter Seals launches toddler playgroup
Easter Seals Tri-Counties has launched a Toddler Learning Center playgroup at Harrington School in south Oxnard.
TLC groups are therapy playgroups designed to provide young children with special needs the opportunity to play with other children outside their own families.
Under the guidance of professional therapists, the children play games, do creative projects, and begin learning about school and group activities.
TLC playgroups also give families the opportunity to form friendships and ask questions about community resources available to their children.
The Harrington School TLC playgroup meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoons.

Gypsies closes season with Goldilocks'
Gypsies in a Trunk will close their 2007 season of Fairytales in the Park with "Goldilocks and the Three Bears."
The performances will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Foxfield Park in Westlake Village; 4 p.m. Saturday at the Rancho Simi Amphitheater in Rancho Simi Community Park; at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harbor Park View in Channel Islands Harbor, Oxnard; at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 8 behind the Community Recreation Center, 1605 E. Burnley St., Camarillo; and at 4 p.m. Sept. 8 at Barranca Vista Park, 7050 Ralston St., Ventura.
Ample seating is available on the ground at all locations. Audience members may bring blankets, lunch or snacks.
Performances are free, but donations are appreciated.

County kids fly free in Young Eagles
The Young Eagles is an Experimental Aircraft Association program designed to introduce youths to aviation.
They are offering free air- plane rides to youths from 8 to 18.
Rides will be given from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Camarillo Airport, 501 Airport Drive, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Santa Paula Airport, 822 E. Santa Maria St.
Flights last from 30 to 60 minutes and give kids an opportunity to take the controls and actually fly the aircraft.
