Cougar Classic returns on Oct. 6
The fifth annual Cougar Golf Classic will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. at the Elkins Ranch Golf Course. The format is a Texas scramble, and players can form their own foursomes, or be paired up by the golf committee.
There will also be a putting contest, long-drive contest, closest to the pin on par-3 holes, and many other special prizes. All golfers will receive lunch, dinner and tee prizes, including golf shirts, caps, and other items. There is a silent auction and the barbecue dinner starts at 5:30 p.m.
The Cougar Classic is the major fundraiser for the Ventura High boys' and girls' basketball teams. The donation for greens fees, cart, auction and dinner is $125. Non-golfers are invited to the auction and dinner for $20. There are still opportunities to be a sponsor or corporate advertiser during the tournament.
Information and registration forms: www.cougargolfclassic.net or Bill Jones, tournament chairman, at 302-7707.
