Two thieves rob, stab ice cream vendor

More from Local NewsAn Oxnard ice cream vendor was in critical condition Friday after he was robbed and stabbed by two men, Oxnard police said.
The robbers stabbed the victim several times in the upper body about 5:48 p.m. Thursday near Bard Road and San Simeon Avenue in Oxnard, police reported.
The victim, whom police did not identify, was taken to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment.
Police asked anyone who might have witnessed the attack to call Oxnard Police Detective Paul Knapp at 385-7796.

This is really sad, just out there trying to make a buck and making kids happy - how low can you go? I bet when they get caught and go to jail, the inmates will show them what to do w/ an ice cream cone.

I never would have thought that the ice cream man had tons of money...these idiots must have been desperate. This is awful. People can't even sell ice cream to kids anymore...I bet if our society was tougher on crime, we wouldn't have so many problems. CRIMINALS belong in JAIL! ! ! !

I hope they catch the thugs that did this. I'm sure he didn't have that much money on him. This is so sick........... What if a child had even witnessed this and has nightmares for years....?

It seems he is in stable condition and will make it. Prayers are with him.

why does this kind of crap only happen in Oxnard? Really, do you ever hear of senseless crimes like this in other towns? It's dumb@sses like this that make Oxnard look bad! I used to live near that area of town, and can't imagine a guy being stabbed like this in broad daylight!

Punks. They must think that they are big tough guys, when in fact their just a bunch of little chavalas & pendejos. I feel terrible for the ice-cream vendor. And, yeah, AnnaWhat is right! What if children/kids would have seen this? We all need to watch out for each other and not turn the cheek. I don't doubt if the corn vendors are next... Poor guy.
