Briggs begins classes; enrollment steady
Enrollment held steady in the Briggs Elementary School District as classes started Thursday.
The district, which has two schools in the Santa Paula area, had anticipated a drop in enrollment but saw about 440 students, roughly the same number as last school year, said Superintendent Mike McLaughlin.
Briggs has been adding technology for the new school year, and there is now one computer for every two students, McLaughlin said.
The district also is building up its music and outdoor learning programs, he said.
