Victim in car crash near Point Mugu identified

The 26-year-old woman who died when her car crashed on the Pacific Coast Highway south of Point Mugu Thursday night has been identified.

The woman, whose car careened off the highway and into the ocean, was identified as Coyesha Joyeux, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office.

Joyeux was traveling south on the highway north of Deer Creek Road at approximately 80 mph, a California Highway Patrol news release stated.

For unknown reasons the vehicle, a 2007 black Acura TL, took a sharp right toward the embankment, struck a large boulder and crashed into the surf, landing upside down completely submerged, according to the CHP. Joyeux, the only person in the car, was trapped inside. Paramedics were unable to revive her, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office indicated she died from drowning and also suffered a significant blunt force head injury. A Department of Motor Vehicles printout shows the woman's residence was in Murrieta, but some investigators said she had been living in Beverly Hills.

Coyesha was a wonderful friend to me and we shared a lot of memories. She was my best friend in Jr. High and we used to do everything together. I'll miss her dearly. Even though we lost contact, I always thought about her. I send my condolences to Coyya and the rest of her family. She'll never be forgotten and will forever be missed by many who knew her. Love you Coyesha Joyeux.

This is Maurice C Bishop on behalf of the Bishop Family. Growing up our immediate families were very close. Growning up, Coyesha was like a sister to my brother and I. Her and my mother were also very close. You have our deepest and most sincere condolences.

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.

Rest in Peace Coyesha.
