Dodgers trade for Moeller
The Cincinnati Reds traded catcher Chad Moeller to the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash considerations and made two moves with their pitching staff Saturday.
The Reds optioned right-hander Matt Belisle to Triple-A Louisville and recalled lefty Bill Bray from Louisville.
The 32-year-old Moeller, signed by the Reds as a free agent in November, hit .167 with one home run and two RBIs in 30 games over three stints with Cincinnati this season.
He is expected to report to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Padres place Barrett on DL, option Cassel: The San Diego Padres placed catcher Michael Barrett on the 15-day disabled list and optioned pitcher Jack Cassel to Triple-A Portland.
Pitcher Mike Thompson was recalled from Portland, and San Diego also purchased the contract of catcher Pete Laforest from Portland.
Giants recall Wilson, send down Sanchez: The San Francisco Giants recalled right-handed reliever Brian Wilson.
The Giants optioned left-hander Jonathan Sanchez to Triple-A Fresno to clear roster room for Wilson, who helps boost a taxed bullpen.
Rockies call up Stewart, place Baker on 15-day DL: The Colorado Rockies called up Ian Stewart from Triple-A Colorado Springs and placed infielder Jeff Baker on the 15-day disabled list.
