Headliners named for Ventura Hillsides Music Festival
Jack Johnson, The Robert Cray Band, and Chris Pierce will headline the Ventura Hillsides Music Festival in September, organizers announced.
A special guest will be announced later this month for the Sept. 30 concert in Ventura's Arroyo Verde Park.
The concert, now in its fifth year, benefits the Ventura Hillsides Conservancy, a land trust bent on preserving the privately owned hills that rise about Ventura.
The chart-topping Johnson returns for the first time since the inaugural concert. As in past years, seating for the event will be festival-style, using the grassy hill in Arroyo Verde Park as a natural amphitheater.
Gates open this year at 11:30 a.m.; the music begins at 1 p.m.
General admission is $45. A members pre-sale ticket sales event will be held Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. at Great Pacific Iron Works, 259 W. Santa Clara St in Ventura. Non-members can join the conservancy on the spot and receive this members-only privilege.
Tickets go on sale to general public Aug. 18. Tickets will be available at Salzer's Music, Great Pacific Iron Works, Simone's Coffee and Tea and at the land conservancy's Web site at www.venturahillsides.org.
Special $150 Gold Circle Seating packages will be available online.
