Highlights: Cal Lutheran — In the win, leadoff hitter Trevor Davidson went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Justin Bogoyevac had two RBIs and a run while Brett Urie contributed two hits. David Iden drove in three runs.
Records: Cal Lutheran 21-12, 11-6 SCIAC; La Verne 19-16, 13-4.

St. Bonaventure 5-5, San Marcos 2-1
At San Marcos
Highlights: St. Bonaventure — In the first game, Marissa Reyes broke a 2-2 tie with a three-run homer in the seventh. Liz Wareham went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and Kelsee Therrien provided two hits. In the second game, Sierra Bennett had two hits, three RBIs and a run scored. Ashley Frutos went 2 for 3 with two runs. Wareham had two hits, two runs and an RBI.
Records: St. Bonaventure 9-5, San Marcos 9-7.

At Thousand Oaks
Highlights: Thousand Oaks — Kyle Jones led off the game with a home run. Catcher Chris Hannick was 1 for 1 with an RBI and Tom Hocutt was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Harrison Kain's hit for an RBI extended his hitting streak to eight games. Shortstop Collin Lavoie contributed a strong defensive performance. Simi Valley — Drew Sandler hit a two-run home run in the third.
Records: Thousand Oaks 19-3-1, 7-1-1 Marmonte League; Simi Valley 14-6-1, 6-2-1.
Palo verde 7, Camarillo 4
At Redondo Tournament, semifinals
Highlights: Camarillo — Jacob Mahan was 3 for 3 with a sacrifice bunt, two doubles and two RBIs. Garrett Rau and Brendan Hindle each had two hits and a run while Mike Sliger homered.
Record: Camarillo 17-2.
GIRLS' TRACK AND FIELD
Newbury Park places eight
San Fernando Invitational, at Birmingham High
Highlights: Newbury Park — Sprinter Raven Schavanne won the 200 in 25.6 seconds and placed second in the 100 at 12.2. Amanda Lee and Gabby Young took third and fourth in the 100, respectively. Amanda Okun took third place in the 800 and 1,600. Courtney Chason placed fifth in the 800 and Jenny Mallen finished sixth in the 3,200. Jill Losey's triple jump of 32 feet, 4 inches, earned second place and Shari Harris took second in the shot put.
BOYS' TRACK AND FIELD
Alami wins one, places in two others
San Fernando Invitational, at Birmingham High
Highlights: Newbury Park — Patrick Alami won the high jump at 6-4 and Erik Mueller took fifth. Alami placed second in the 110 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles. Steven Bradley finished fourth in the 800 at 2:01.9.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE WOMEN'S TENNIS
Ventura qualifies two singles, doubles to regionals
At Western State Conference Tournament
Highlights: Ventura — Ally Limon won the singles championship by defeating Santa Barbara's Anna Ottman 6-2, 6-3 in the final and automatically qualified to for the Southern California Regionals at Victor Valley College, May 3-5. Michelle Gray also qualified to the regionals. Both Condors also qualified as part of doubles teams, Limon with Maria Sanchez and Gray with Andrea Collomb.
JUNIOR TENNIS
Brodsky Wins Easter Bowl title
At 40th annual Easter Bowl, Rancho Mirage
Highlights: Weil Academy product Gail Brodsky prevailed in an all-New York final to capture the Girls' 18 singles title. Brodsky, a Brooklyn native, defeated Nadia Gilchrist of Rochester, N.Y., 6-0, 6-3. "It is pretty amazing," Brodsky said. "I hoped to be here one day, but you never know if it will happen."
