Naughty Rafaela, Bonfante win features
Naughty Rafaela won the 59th running of the $200,000 Santa Barbara for fillies and mares at Santa Anita on Saturday.
Ridden by David Flores, the 5-year-old mare edged Mabadi by a length, running 1 1/8 miles on the turf course in 1 minute, 48.12 seconds. The race was shortened to make the race safer for horses after Friday's rain.
Naughty Rafaela returned $7.20, $4 and $2.60. Her lifetime earnings rose to $206,224 with Santa Barbara's winning purse of $120,000.
The $103,488 San Simeon Handicap went to long-shot Bonfante after the six-furlong event was taken off the grass and moved to the dirt.
Ridden by Aaron Gryder, Bonfante, the longest price in the reduced field at 6-1, finished the race in 1:14.59.
Slew's Tizzy scores upset at Lexington Stakes: Freed of the blinkers that rattled him during a disappointing seventh-place finish in the Louisiana Derby last month, Slew's Tizzy might just make the Kentucky Derby after all.
The 3-year-old colt stunned the field at the $325,000 Lexington (Ky.) Stakes, taking the lead early then dominating down the stretch for a 3 length victory over Starbase. Slew's Tizzy went off at 40-1, but hardly looked like a long-shot while making easy work of the nine-horse field.
Slew's Tizzy covered the 1 1/16 mile course in 1:43.20 and paid $83, $29.60 and $13.60. Starbase was second.

Brajkovic retains lead in Tour de Georgia
American Fred Rodriguez won a close sprint, crossing the finish line at 47 mph, to edge Argentina's Juan Jose Haedo in the sixth stage of the Tour de Georgia at Stone Mountain, Ga.
Janez Brajkovic, a 23-year-old Slovenian, remained the overall leader in the race that will end today in downtown Atlanta.
Brajkovic has a 15-second lead over Christian Vande Velde of the United States.

Jackson's 400 hurdles time fastest of year
Running straight into a powerful wind coming down the stretch, Bershawn Jackson won the 400-meter hurdles at the Kansas Relays at Lawrence with a time of 48.75 seconds, best in the world this year.
The wind played havoc all day with the 80th running of the meet. Matt Teagenkamp, however, won the 1,500 with a time of 3:43.

Maradona being treated for alcoholism
Diego Maradona was transferred to a private psychiatric clinic where he is to undergo treatment for alcohol addiction after being hospitalized twice in less than a month.
Alfredo Cahe, personal physician to the Argentine soccer hero, said the 46-year-old elected treatment at the private Avril Clinic in Buenos Aires, Argentina, that specializes in dependency treatment.
