Police warn public to be wary of hugging man

Ventura County Sheriff's officials are asking the public today to be wary this week after a man approached two 7-year-old girls, spoke to them and hugged them outside Rio Real School in El Rio.

After the Wednesday morning incident the girls continued walking to school and the man left the area.

Sheriff's officials were unable to locate the man, but they have stepped up patrols in the area.

Residents are advised to report unusual incidents to police.
