Morning Report: Armed robbers hit two Ventura stores

More from Other NewsPolice and Fire: Two Ventura stores were robbed in similar fashion Wednesday night, police said.
The first robbery occurred at 6 p.m. at the Circle K market on 1007 E. Main Street.
A man wearing dark sunglasses entered the store, brandished a handgun at the clerk and demanded money, police said.
The suspect left the store after the clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was hurt during the robbery.
Four hours later, a man wearing a black ski mask robbed H&H Liquor at 1839 E. Main Street, police said.
The suspect entered the store at 10:19 p.m., showed that he had a gun and demanded money.
He left after the clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of money.

Ventura police had not apprehended any suspects in the robberies by this morning, said Lt. Ray Vance.
Police have not determined if both crimes were committed by the same person. But the suspects described in each case were about the same size and the gun each used was similar, Vance said.
"We're thinking they might be related," he said.
Police are asking anyone with information about the crimes to call 339-4394 or make an anonymous call to 385-TALK.
Traffic: At 6:57 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was reporting a non-injury crash on the E. Main Street offramp from Highway 126 westbound in Ventura.
Weather: Mostly sunny and breezy conditions with high temperatures in the 60s and 70s are expected today, the National Weather Service reported.
Clouds will move in tonight and there is a chance it could rain by morning, according to weather service predictions.
A high wind advisory is in effect for county mountains through 11 a.m.
