A female student at California State University, Channel Islands in Camarillo was detained by campus police today after allegedly making a threat on the Internet, a campus spokeswoman said.

The student was being questioned by campus police about a posting she made on Facebook.com, a Web site developed as a place for college students to meet.

The university did not release the student's name or the exact nature of the alleged threat. The student had not been arrested as of late this afternoon.

The alleged threat was posted under the student's name, said Ceal Potts, a communications specialist at Channel Islands. A student notified a residence hall staff member about the posting. That staff member then notified campus police, Potts said.

Channel Islands President Richard Rush was meeting this afternoon with campus police and other university officials about the incident, Potts said. No other details were immediately available.

The student was Freshman Alisha Salazar. She has since been arrested and booked for felony criminal threats, under penal code 422. Furthermore, she will be expelled from CSUCI and likely not allowed back on campus. On her facebook, she talked about going on a "shooting Spree" in a blog she had posted.
