Boy dies after falling 20 feet at home

An 8-year-old Simi Valley boy died last week after an accidental fall in his home, officials said Tuesday.

On Friday morning, Lucas Scott made his way up to an area of his family's home that was being remodeled in the 500 block of Siskin Place and fell about 20 feet to a concrete floor, said Armando Chavez, a senior deputy medical examiner for Ventura County.

Scott suffered a blunt-force head injury, Chavez said. The boy was pronounced dead at Simi Valley Hospital about 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Witnesses confirmed the fall was accidental, said Sgt. David Livingstone of the Simi Valley Police Department.

My most sincere condolences to the family of Lucas. I know that they are devastated. God must have needed a new angel and now he has one in Lucas.

God bless...
