Rachel Weisz, right, has dropped out of "The Mummy 3" for Universal Pictures.
The Oscar-winning actress has opted not to join her returning co-star Brendan Fraser in the China-set action-adventure, which will be helmed by Rob Cohen and co-star Jet Li.
The studio cited scheduling conflicts for Weisz's decision not to reprise her role.
Weisz, 36, won Oscar, Golden Globe and Screen Actor's Guild awards for her supporting role in "The Constant Gardener" (2005).
She lives with maverick director Darren Aronofsky in Brooklyn, and the two of them have a 10-month-old son, Henry Chance.
