Actor to visit Lassen's
Long known as much for his environmental activism as his acting, Ed Begley Jr. is coming to Ventura to show how to live greener.
The star of HGTV's "Living With Ed" will be at Lassen's Natural Foods store at 1 p.m. Thursday to demonstrate products from his green home-cleaning line, Begley's Best. Lassen's is at 4071 E. Main St.
Begley, recently referred to in Time magazine as "the star of climate change in Hollywood," has spent three decades "enduring mockery," the magazine said, "for doing things that don't seem quite so stupid now."
Begley, turning up regularly to Hollywood events on a bicycle, says he can and would like to teach us all to live green.

Begley's appearance at Lassen's is one of a series of free demonstrations, giveaways and sales scheduled through the week in honor of Earth Day, which is April 22.
Begley will return to the health food store July 14 to show his products and help Lassen's celebrate its 38th anniversary. He will follow the demonstration with a one-hour public talk on "How to Live Simply, So That Others May Simply Live."
Begley has successfully combined his acting career with his passion for the environment with the HGTV show. Begley's resume includes his six-time Emmy-nominated portrayal of Dr. Victor Ehrlich on "St. Elsewhere."
