Students can finish courses in a flash in summer session

Students throughout Ventura County can enroll at the three community colleges and complete a full-semester class in four weeks during the summer session that begins May 21. Six-, seven- and eight-week sessions begin June 18 at all three college campuses.

The summer and fall schedules of classes for Oxnard, Moorpark and Ventura colleges are available online at http://www.vcccd.net, as well as through the individual colleges' Web sites: http://www.moorparkcollege.edu, http://www.oxnardcollege.edu and http://www.venturacollege.edu.

The schedule is available in print on the campuses and throughout the county at libraries, high schools, and job and career centers.

The Ventura College and Oxnard College online and the print versions contain information in both English and Spanish. The schedules have been mailed throughout the county.

For the second year, students have the opportunity to register for their summer and fall classes simultaneously, which can save them time and reserve them spots in highly desirable classes.

Priority registration began Monday for EAC, CalWORKs and EOPS students. Continuing students may begin registering Monday, and open online registration for all non-high school students begins May 7. High school students must register in person and may begin registering on May 8.

Students in kindergarten through eighth grade must register in person and may register for summer classes only, starting May 21.

Students are encouraged to "beat the rush" and see a counselor as soon as possible. Students may call the counseling offices at each college for additional information: Moorpark College, 378-1428; at Oxnard College, 986-5816; and at Ventura College, 654-6448.

For more details, call Alisa Moore at Ventura College at 654-6462.
