Deadline is Friday for FEMA grants
Friday is the deadline to apply for grants designed to help local
government agencies and nonprofit groups provide emergency food and
shelter programs in Ventura County.
More than $420,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency is available here, according to United Way of Ventura County, which is handling the application process.
Applicants must be nonprofit or government agencies with an established accounting system and a proven capability to provide emergency food or shelter programs.
To request an application, call Nancy Older at United Way at 485-6288, ext. 227. The deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m. Friday.
