Dallas Nicole Woodburn
Dallas Nicole Woodburn is a Ventura High School senior. At age 17,
Dallas has numerous writing credits, including being a featured author
in the nationally-released books "So, You Wanna Be a
Writer?", "Good Friends Come Along Once in a Lifetime," and "Chicken
Soup for the
Teenage Soul IV."
Her self-published book of short stories and poems, "There's A Huge Pimple On My Nose," has sold more than 800 copies. The Los Angeles Times book review said of her book: "If you simply want to enjoy some remarkable writing, it would be hard to find a book more satisfying than Dallas Woodburn's."
Dallas also wrote the play "The 74-Year-Old Rookie" which Ventura High produced this past spring.
Her stories and articles have appeared in numerous magazines including Writer's Digest, Girls Life, CosmoGIRL, Justine, Listen, Encounter, Writing, and The Hudson Valley Literary Magazine.
A few years ago Dallas founded a nonprofit organization called "Write On!" that encourages kids to read and write through book drives (which to date have collected and given out nearly 5,000 new books to local underprivleged children)and essay contests.
