Brian Hicks

Brian Hicks, right, of Manteca, a construction electrician for Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 4 (NMCB4) based at Port Hueneme, deployed to Turkey in February and later caught up with the main body in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His best friend, Mark Horness or Clatskanie, Ore., left, is also a construction electrician. Horness broke his shoulder blade two weeks before deployment and has been recuperating, but is hoping to catch up with Battalion 4.
