Bryans capture Samsung title
Camarillo's Mike and Bob Bryan will enter Wimbledon on a winning note
after defeating Australian Joshua Eagle and American Jared Palmer 7-6
(3), 4-6, 7-6 (4) to capture the Samsung Open in Nottingham, England,
on Saturday.
Trailing 4-2 in the third-set tiebreaker, the top-seeded Bryans rattled off five consecutive points to capture the title, pushing their career total to 12.
Mike won the Samsung last year when he teamed with Mark Knowles. The Bryans have a record of 34-14 this year with three tournament victories.
They are seeded No. 3 in Wimbledon, and will probably begin play on Wednesday.
They are in search of their second straight Grand Slam title, having captured the French Open crown earlier in the month.
